CRMS bio-fouling inspection and cleaning in Thailand for hull condition control

MaxiDive recently completed a CRMS bio-fouling inspection and cleaning in Thailand as part of underwater hull condition management at Laem Chabang Port. The project focused on documenting the underwater condition of the vessel, assessing marine growth, and carrying out targeted cleaning where required to support compliance and maintenance planning.

For vessels operating on international routes, regular bio-fouling control is an important part of maintenance strategy. Marine growth can affect hull condition, reduce operational efficiency, and create compliance concerns depending on the vessel’s trading pattern and destination requirements. A structured underwater inspection allows operators to identify the level of fouling, document key findings, and decide whether localized cleaning or further maintenance is required.

During this project, MaxiDive’s team carried out underwater inspection and cleaning activities using diver-held tools and onboard support equipment. The scope included visual verification of hull condition, documentation of fouling presence, and cleaning work in selected underwater areas.

The inspection identified areas requiring attention, including visible slime growth and fouling accumulation in specific locations. Underwater documentation was recorded to support reporting and provide a clear condition reference. Where needed, cleaning was performed to remove marine growth and help restore the affected surfaces.

As with all commercial underwater operations, work was executed with attention to safety, reporting discipline, and practical coordination alongside the vessel. Support craft and diving equipment were positioned to ensure efficient access to the work area and stable execution of the inspection scope.

Why CRMS bio-fouling inspection and cleaning matters

A professional CRMS bio-fouling inspection and cleaning in Thailand helps vessel operators maintain better awareness of hull condition between drydock periods. It also supports decision-making for maintenance scheduling, operational efficiency, and documentation readiness.

Benefits of this type of underwater service include:

  • early identification of marine growth accumulation

  • condition documentation for hull management records

  • targeted cleaning of affected areas

  • support for compliance-related inspection requirements

  • improved planning for future maintenance actions

For operators managing fleets across Thai ports and anchorages, timely underwater inspection and cleaning can reduce uncertainty and provide a more accurate picture of the vessel’s underwater condition.

Commercial diving support for vessels in Thailand

MaxiDive provides underwater inspection, hull cleaning, propeller polishing, and vessel maintenance support across Thailand. Our teams work in ports, anchorages, and operational areas where timely underwater services are required to support vessel performance and technical condition.

This project reflects the type of practical field support ship operators need: clear underwater reporting, efficient execution, and reliable service coordination. Whether the requirement is inspection, cleaning, or maintenance-related underwater work, MaxiDive continues to support vessels with professional commercial diving services throughout Thailand.
