MaxiDive completed CRMS Bio-Fouling Cleaning and Inspection for a commercial vessel at Laem Chabang, Thailand. The operation focused on underwater biofouling assessment, selected cleaning and before-and-after photo documentation of key submerged areas while the vessel remained afloat.
This project required underwater inspection and cleaning support across multiple areas where marine growth can accumulate, including sea chest gratings, discharges, flat bottom sections, keel areas and propeller-related surfaces. MaxiDive’s commercial diving team used underwater documentation equipment, hydraulic tools, hand tools and other professional diving equipment to complete the work scope.

CRMS Bio-Fouling Cleaning and Inspection Scope at Laem Chabang
The scope was focused on documenting the level of marine growth before cleaning and verifying the condition of selected areas after cleaning. This approach provides vessel managers with clear visual evidence of the work completed and supports biofouling management records.

Before-and-After Cleaning Documentation
For CRMS biofouling work, before-and-after documentation is especially important. It allows the vessel’s technical team to see the condition of submerged areas before cleaning and confirm the visible result after cleaning.
During this project, MaxiDive documented several underwater areas with noticeable biofouling coverage. After cleaning, the same areas were recorded again to show improved visibility and surface condition. This documentation supports technical review and helps vessel managers decide whether further maintenance action is required.

Sea Chest, Discharges and Niche Area Cleaning
Sea chest gratings, discharge openings and other niche areas can retain marine growth more heavily than open hull surfaces. These areas are important for vessel operation and may require close-range underwater cleaning and documentation.
MaxiDive carried out cleaning support on selected sea chest and discharge areas to remove marine growth and improve visibility. The cleaned areas were documented after completion to support the vessel’s biofouling records.

Flat Bottom, Keels and Propeller-Related Areas
The inspection and cleaning scope also included flat bottom, keel and propeller-related areas. These zones are important for hull condition awareness, vessel efficiency and future maintenance planning.
Where marine growth was present, selected cleaning was completed using appropriate underwater tools. The before-and-after images provide a clear comparison between the fouled surface and the cleaned condition.
