Full Hull Cleaning, Propeller Polishing and Underwater Welding Support at Kerry Siam Sea Port


MaxiDive completed a full hull cleaning and propeller polishing operation for a commercial vessel at Kerry Siam Sea Port, Thailand. The work was carried out under calm sea state conditions with approximately 3 meters of underwater visibility.


The project scope included hull cleaning, propeller polishing, underwater photo/video documentation and additional underwater welding support recorded during the operation. MaxiDive’s commercial diving team used TG-7, GoPro-12, hydrophilic tools, hand tools and supporting underwater equipment to complete the assigned work while the vessel remained afloat.

Full Hull Cleaning and Underwater Condition Review


The underwater work focused on removing marine growth from the hull and documenting the vessel’s underwater condition. During the inspection and cleaning process, the hull plating was recorded in extremely poor overall condition.


The hull topcoat and weld seams were reported in poor condition. Multiple flushed weld seams, grounding marks and related findings were detected at the flat bottom aft section. The stem arrangement was found free from damage.


This type of underwater documentation is important for vessel managers because it provides a clear record of hull condition before future technical decisions, repair planning or maintenance scheduling.

Appendage Condition


The inspection also covered underwater appendages and related fittings.


The transducers were found free from contact damage. All sea chest gratings were securely in place. The overall discharges were reported in fair condition, and all visible drain plugs were free from leakage.


The overall hull anodes were secure and active. Both port and starboard bilge keels were reported in normal profile.

Propeller Polishing and Propeller Assembly Findings


The propeller polishing scope was completed as part of the underwater maintenance operation. After polishing, the propeller surface roughness was recorded as grade “A” according to the Rubert Scale.


The seal assembly was free from signs of leakage. The boss cap was secure and the keeper was intact. Two propeller blades were identified with minor contact damage.


The rope guard material was reported missing, which was documented as part of the propeller assembly findings.


Propeller polishing to Rubert Scale “A” helps restore a smoother blade surface, supporting better vessel performance and reducing unnecessary drag caused by surface roughness.


Underwater Welding Support


In addition to the hull cleaning and propeller polishing scope, the project documentation included underwater welding activity. The welding work was recorded through underwater photos and video, showing MaxiDive’s commercial diving team carrying out welding support under operational vessel conditions.


This visual documentation can be used to demonstrate MaxiDive’s capability in underwater maintenance and class-related repair support, while the main report scope remains full hull cleaning and propeller polishing.


Underwater welding support requires controlled preparation, proper diver communication, suitable underwater visibility, stable positioning and experienced commercial diving personnel.


Technical Documentation


MaxiDive documented the operation with underwater photo and video materials. This documentation supported the review of hull plating, appendages, propeller assembly, welding activity and underwater vessel condition.
